SHAH LALJI NANGPAR ACADEMY

SCHOOL PROFILE

A Legacy of Quality Education

Today, Shah Lalji Nangpar Academy educates 700 students, from Nursery through to A-Level, and is equipped with exceptional indoor and outdoor sports facilities. The school maintains high academic standards, evidenced by a strong record of excellence in examinations, thanks to the dedication of the School Management Committee and a hardworking teaching staff.

As a non-profit institution, Shah Lalji Nangpar Academy has aimed to keep tuition fees affordable to ease financial burdens on parents. However, rising costs continue to pose challenges in sustaining this commitment.

The Visa Oshwal Community, which has been promoting education in Kenya for over 50 years, sponsors multiple educational institutions across Mombasa and Nairobi, including schools, a college, and residential facilities. Their commitment to education in Nakuru is realised through Shah Lalji Nangpar Academy, established to serve Nakuru and the wider region.

Our History

Shah Lalji Nangpar Academy is a co-educational day school in Nakuru, dedicated to providing high-quality education to students from Nakuru and the surrounding regions.

The Academy was established through the vision of the Visa Oshwal Community in Nakuru, who, in 1988-1989, recognised the need for a school offering excellent education at affordable fees. The Nangpar Raimal family of Nakuru Industries generously donated the land and significant financial support for the Academy’s construction. Other members of the Visa Oshwal Community joined this initiative, contributing over 60 million shillings in voluntary donations by 1996.

By January 1994, the Academy had completed its Nursery, Primary, and Secondary school blocks, opening with an initial enrollment of around 200 students. An international-standard auditorium and swimming pool were also added to the facilities.
